Andrew Shaw had his fair share of run-ins with the NHL's Department of Player Safety over the course of his career. The scrappy little forward was suspended at least three times in his career, paid at least three fines and was ejected from games multiple times for questionable plays. Now Shaw, who retired in April of this year due to concussion issues, is calling out DoPS.

Shaw is not happy that Jacob Trouba appears to have escaped any supplemental discipline for his devastating hit on Jujhar Khaira of the Chicago Blackhawks Tuesday night.

"So @NHLPlayerSafety, we gunna see you protect your players or you gunna just point the finger at Jujhar saying he put himself in the position like you told me on many occasions?," said Shaw on Twitter, ensuring the department was tagged in the Tweet.

There has been a ton of debate on social media over whether Trouba's hit was clean. That said, it has already been announced that there will be no supplemental discipline, meaning the Department views it as a clean hit. He also received no penalty on the play during the game.

Khaira was stretchered off the ice following the hit and brought to hospital. However, he has since been released and the Blackhawks have stated a full recovery is expected. It was Khaira's third time getting knocked out during a game in less than a year.
