Two players hit waiver wire, one for contract termination; two from yesterday clear

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the New York Islanders have placed Russian Forward Anatolii Golyshev on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a contract buyout.

Golyshev, 26, was a fourth round pick of the New York Islanders in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the past five seasons after being drafted in the KHL with Yekaterinburg Automobilist and finally decided to make the move to North America this past spring.

He signed a one-year, two-way contract with he New York Islanders in March, but failed to appear with the big club, and only played in the AHL with the Bridgeport Islanders. In fifteen games with Bridgeport, Golyshev had seven points (five goal, two assists), ten penalty minutes, and was a minus-one.

Additionally, the Colorado Avalanche placed forward Jayson Megna on regular waivers for the purpose of an AHL assignment. In twenty games this season, the Fort Lauderdale, Florida native has three assists, four penalty minutes, and is a minus-one.

Elliotte Freidman also reported that the two players on Tuesday's waiver wire, Scott Harrington (CLB), and Brendan Perlini (EDM), cleared and have been assigned to their respective American Hockey League.
