Winnipeg Jets' Connor Hellebuyck isn't trying to sound like he is complaining regarding goaltender interference calls in the NHL. He just wants some clarity.

The 28-year-old has shared opinions on the rulings before but has failed to get much, if any clarity on the situation. On Tuesday night, he was a part of another controversial ruling in a game versus the Carolina Hurricanes, and is once again left confused. After the game, he pled to the NHL to begin explaining the ruling better.

"It's very frustrating. I've been trying for years to get this rule more black and white," Hellebuyck said. "I don't want to say changed. But just so everyone understands what's going on there. I'm not trying to take away from the league. I just want to make it black and white. I feel like my word isn't being heard enough. One year, on the competition committee, we had a good discussion, but it didn't go anywhere. Obviously that needs to be on the agenda."

From a non-biased point of view, it seems Hellebuyck has a reason to question the ruling versus the Canes, one in which his pad appeared to be pushed into the net by Sebastian Aho. Still, the call stood, and as a result many are continuing to voice their frustration toward NHL officiating, something that has been an extremely hot topic early into the 2021-22 season. Perhaps if more elite caliber players like Hellebuyck begin to speak up, the league will have no choice but to finally address their rule book.
