The Montreal Canadiens announced on Wednesday morning that centerman Christian Dvorak will not practice today and is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Dvorak went down awkwardly during the second period of last night's game against Tampa Bay and did not return.

In a corresponding move, the Canadiens announced that they've called up forward Jesse Ylonen from the Laval Rocket. The 22-year-old Finn is having a solid season so far in Laval, tallying fourteen points (four goals, ten assists) in seventeen games.

With the injury to Dvorak, Montreal's list of absent players has grown to thirteen in total. Joel Edmundson (back), Carey Price (knee), Shea Weber (foot), Paul Byron (hip), Josh Brook (undisclosed), Joel Teasdale (undisclosed), Sami Niku (COVID-19), Brendan Gallagher (COVID-19), Josh Anderson (upper-body), Jeff Petry (upper-body), Joel Armia (undisclosed), Tyler Toffoli (upper-body), and Christian Dvorak (lower-body).

With all of the injuries to the Canadiens, the team was forced to dress a roster last night that was well under the salary cap floor, sitting at roughly $38.45 million.
