Despite taking a lot of the blame for the Montreal Canadiens' recent woes, and his firing from the team after being there for the last 18 years, it seems Trevor Timmins won't be unemployed for long. In fact, he may have already landed a new position in the NHL.

"Met Trevor Timmins in the press gallery tonight at the Ottawa Senators game," said Alain Sanscartier, a contributor to RDS and several French-language radio stations in Montreal and Ottawa. "He will most likely find a new job in the NHL fairly quickly."

Timmins joined the Montreal Canadiens in 2003 and had been largely responsible for the team's drafting for the last several years. That was seen as a major problem by many. As RDS pointed out before Timmins was fired: "Since the arrival of Trevor Timmins in 2003, the Canadiens are the only team not to have drafted a player who has scored 70 points in one season, either in Montreal or with another team afterwards."

It is also worth noting that Timmins worked for the Ottawa Senators before joining the Habs in 2003. He served as a team manager, conditioning coach, scouting coordinator and Director of Hockey Operations in the 1990s and early 2000s.
