The San Jose Sharks beat put Evander Kane on waivers on Sunday afternoon.

"Evander Kane will be placed on waivers today, @mercnews has learned. Assuming he clears, he will be assigned to the Barracuda." Curtis Pashelka said in a tweet on Sunday.

Kane, 30, has had a rough go off the ice in 2021, including his legal issues with his estranged wife Anna. He was involved in an investigation by the NHL after Anna said that he bet on games, including his own, but those claims were found to be false.

The Vancouver. British Columbia native was suspended by the NHL prior to the start of the 2021-22 season for violating the league's COVID-19 protocol. Kane reportedly faked a COVID-19 vaccination card, and after an investigation, was suspended for 21 games. He is eligible to return to the Sharks lineup on November 30th against New Jersey.

According to TSN 1200, Ottawa Senators goaltender Matt Murray has cleared waivers and will be assigned to the Belleville Senators of the American Hockey League.

In seven games this season, Murray has a record of 0-6-0 with a 3.26 G.A.A., and an .890 save percentage. The Thunder Bay, Ontario native has two years remaining on his contract following the 2021-22 season at an AAV of $6.25 million.
