It appears Brendan Lemieux of the LA Kings is facing a lengthy suspension for his decision to bite Brady Tkachuk of the Ottawa Senators Saturday night. The NHL's Department of Player Safety says Lemieux has been offered an in-person hearing (via Zoom) for his actions, something usually reserved for more serious punishments from DoPS.

Lemieux and Tkachuk were involved in a scrum during Saturday night's game, with Tkachuk coming out of it screaming "he bit me!" at the officials. Lemieux would end up getting tossed from the game. Tkachuk went off on Lemieux in a post-game interview, calling it "gutless."

"This is the one time I'm going to answer this," Tkachuk said. "It was the most gutless thing somebody can ever do. This guy, you can ask any one of his teammates, nobody ever wants to play with him. This guy is a bad guy and a bad teammate; he focuses on himself all the time."
