The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Friday that they've placed 2014 second round pick Nicolas Aube-Kubel on waivers. Aube-Kubel has been scratched from Philadelphia's last two games, and has appeared in seven of their eleven games to start the 2021-22 campaign.

If Aube-Kubel clears, he'll return to the AHL for the first time since the 2019-20 season, after he played all of last year with the Flyers, appearing in 50 of their 56 games.

The Slave Lake, Alberta native has played in 102 games for the Flyers, tallying 28 points (10 G, 18 A), 69 penalty minutes, and is a minus-four.

With Aube-Kubel on waivers, it could indicate that forward Kevin Hayes is ready to return to the Flyers lineup on Saturday night when they travel to Dallas to take on the Stars. Hayes has missed the start of the regular season after having abdominal surgery a couple of days prior to the start of training camp in September.
