Police investigating after fight involving players and parents at a recent hockey game (w/video)

Police in Tewksbury, Massachusetts are investigating after a fight broke out at a hockey game last weekend that involved both players and parents. According to a release from officials, the fight happened last Saturday night at a youth hockey game.

"On Saturday Nov. 6, 2021, at approximately 4 p.m., Tewksbury Police were called to the Breakaway Ice Center, located at 20 Carter St for a report of a fight. Upon arrival, officers determined that a confrontation broke out among players at the conclusion of an 18U league game between teams from Tewksbury and Raynham. The fight escalated and parents of the athletes became involved."

"Police have interviewed the referees from the game and are reviewing surveillance footage from the rink. Tewksbury Police detectives have also obtained and are reviewing video footage of the altercation that was posted to social media. The investigation remains ongoing."

"At least one player suffered a laceration to the face. No ambulance transports were required."

A local news reporter has since released a video of the altercation as filmed by one of the parents who was there. It clearly shows punches being thrown.
