The scandal involving Kyle Beach and the Chicago Blackhawks has put a very ugly stain on many in the hockey community, some of whom have lost their jobs as a result, most notably Stan Bowman and Joel Quenneville.

One who hasn't been talked about quite as much but deserves his fair share of blame in this is Don Fehr, who is the executive director of the NHL's Players' Association. Fehr was aware of the sexual misconduct involving Beach at the time it happened, and promised to warn USA Hockey, but failed to do so. According to an anonymous NHL veteran, players throughout the league are not at all happy with Fehr in his failing to help with this situation.

«I think the boys are pissed,» said the veteran player. «Real anger with Fehr over the [Kyle] Beach thing.»

This entire situation could very well result in Fehr being relieved of his duties. This has had many individuals' characters questioned, and rightfully so. It seems that almost nobody who knew about this at the time it happened wanted to help Beach, which is both shocking and disgusting. Hopefully Beach's braveness to open up about what happened to him will help fix several issues within the game of hockey and can prevent a similar situation from happening in the future.
