The two agents representing Buffalo Sabres captain Jack Eichel say they fully expect their client to be traded soon.

"Our expectation is that Jack is going to be traded in the near future, and all of our discussions have been centered around that issue," agents Peter Fish and Peter Donatelli told Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The two agents confirmed that Eichel is skating, but would say nothing about any possible neck surgery, which seems to be a main factor in the breakdown between Eichel and the Sabres. Eichel wants a disc replacement, but Buffalo won't agree to it as it is experimental and could lead to his career being over.

Meanwhile, Sabres GM Kevyn Adamns said after the draft last week that he'd have no issue with Eichel returning to the team for next season.

"I would have no problem at all if Jack Eichel is on our team when we start training camp," Adams told the Buffalo News.

That may be his stance, but it seems very unlikely to happen at this time.
