The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to be a team stuck in the middle as they refuse to chose if they want to be competitive or rebuild.
That has resulted in many questionable moves by the franchise over the course of the past two seasons.
One move that made sense though came yesterday when the organization elected to waive their starting goalie for the purpose of demoting him to the AHL.
Of course, that goalie would be Tristan Jarry, who has struggled quite a lot in his time with the Penguins this season.
Now we know where he will play next as his waiver fate has been confirmed.
Just moments ago it was revealed that Jarry cleared waivers and will thus report to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton penguins of the AHL where he will attempt to rehabilitate his game.
Jarry has made 22 appearances for the Penguins this season, getting the start in 21 of them.
He has an 8-8-4 record, which could certainly be worse based on his underlying numbers.
His save percentage is an abysmal .884 and he has a bloated 3.31 goals-against-average.
Furthermore, he seems to never start games on time very frequently giving up a goal on one of the first shots he sees this season.
In fact, he has made it to 6 saves without giving up a goal just 6 times in 22 games this year.
With three years left on his contract, Kyle Dubas and the rest of the organization are just going to have to hope and pray that he can regain his form in the AHL.
If he doesn't that contract could be a anchor for the team over the next three years, and that is just one of their many problems.
Be sure to stay tuned to see how Jarry does with this demotion and whether or not he can earn his way back to the NHL club this season.
