Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, just a day after breaking damn near every single Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft pick 8-10 hours before the fact, has his latest Icebreakers report on Thursday, with a few very interesting points.

Perhaps one of the more intriguing points named three NHL players who are very likely to be bought out before the window closes on July 27th. Tony DeAngelo (NYR), Martin Jones (SJ) and Jake Virtanen (VAN).

DeAngelo has been the NHL's poster boy for off-ice drama over the last few seasons, culminating in a rumoured altercation between DeAngelo and teammate Alexandar Georgiev following a tough 5-4 overtime loss, early last season, on January 31st against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After the altercation, during which it is believed that Chris Kreider stepped in and struck DeAngelo in the face, the disgruntled defenseman was removed from the Rangers' roster and placed on waivers. He went unclaimed by the other 30 teams. A buyout makes too much sense here.

In San Jose, Jones appears to be the odd man out after stringing together several disappointing seasons, causing management to become untrusting of the 31-year-old after signing him to a 6-year, $34.5M contract extension back on July 1, 2017.

The Sharks exposed Jones to the Seattle Kraken in Wednesday's expansion draft after acquiring young goaltender Adin Hill from the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, protecting him over his new veteran counterpart and signifying that this would likely be the start of the Hill era in San Jose.

Jones has 3 seasons remaining on his current deal, which carries a $5.75M AAV.

Lastly, Vancouver's Jake Virtanen is currently in some legal trouble after being accused in an alleged sexual assault case. Virtanen denies these claims.

Virtanen has struggled mightily with the Canucks after being selected 6th overall back in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

Prior to the Canucks suspending Virtanen indefinitely amid the very serious allegations in the middle of last season, he had managed just 5 points through 38 games.

Since his departure from TSN, Seravalli continues to show that he truly is right on top of the action.
