The lists of protected players for the Seattle expansion draft are pouring in, with some big names being left exposed by several teams. From the Montreal Canadiens, the Kraken will have some interesting choices.

Montreal has chosen to protect forwards Josh Anderson, Joel Armia, Jake Evans, Brendan Gallagher, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, Artturi Lehkonen and Tyler Toffoli. On the blueline, Ben Chiarot, Joel Edmundson and Jeff Petry are safe. Backup goaltender Jake Allen is also protected.

That means the following players are exposed in the draft and up for grabs: Jonathan Drouin, Paul Byron, Shea Weber, Carey Price, Brett Kulak, Michael McNiven and others. Pending unrestricted free agents like Phil Danault are also unprotected.

It appears Shea Weber will not play next season and may not play again at all so it is doubtful he will be nabbed by Seattle. It's also a safe bet that sweeteners would have to be added in order to get Kraken GM Ron Francis to take on Drouin. Price certainly offers an interesting choice for Francis. Yes, the remaining contract is heavy. However, Seattle has plenty of money and Price could bring in hundreds of thousands of dollars in added tickets sales, merchandise, etc. Just imagine how many people would buy a Carey Price Kraken jersey before the beginning of next season.

We'll know Wednesday who Seattle has decided to take from each team.
