It was certainly a surprise when news broke Saturday night that Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price had agreed to waive his no movement clause in order to be left exposed in the Seattle Expansion Draft. The move, according to reports, is being done so the Habs can protect goaltender Jake Allen, who would almost certainly be taken if left open. However, it presents a huge risk for Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin, who could end up losing his franchise cornerstone.

A few hours after the news became public, Angela Price, the wife of Carey, took to Instagram to post a message that seem designed to calm the rumours. However, it may have had the opposite impact as the message was so cryptic.

"Just checked by DMs," said Angela through an Instagram story. "Don't worry guys, things will make more sense soon."

Whether that means that she knows Price will not get snapped up by Seattle, or that she's hoping he is and there's a good reason for it, is anyone's guess. Seattle would put Price much closer to the place where he was born and raised in B.C. Another interesting note is that Angela herself was born and raised in Washington state, where Seattle is located. Could the couple have agreed to take the risk in the expansion draft knowing it was a win-win for them regardless of what happened? That's anyone's guess right now. And we'll likely have to wait until the draft on Wednesday to get more information.

Price has spent his entire career in Montreal since being drafted fifth overall in 2005.
