Connor McDavid's recent suspension has caused an uproar in Edmonton, and now Conor Garland responds to the hate from the Oilers fanbase ahead of a massive rematch on Thursday night.

One of the biggest stories in the NHL this season has been the suspension of Connor McDavid, who will miss the Oilers next three games after a cross-check to the face of Conor Garland.

Those three games will include a Thursday night matchup with the Vancouver Canucks, the team that caused all of these issues, with Garland responding to the idea that he could be enemy No. 1 in Edmonton.

I do not care.

According to Garland however, the outside noise means absolutely nothing, as he made it clear that he doesn't care about the reaction of Oilers fans, noting that he's not expecting the kindest reaction on Thursday when the two teams officially do battle once more.

Garland isn't usually a player that's in the spotlight, as he's often outshined by star teammates Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller, but with 52, 46 and 47 points over the past three seasons, he's turned himself into a very valuable player in Vancouver.

After the play that caused McDavid to react with a cross-check, the Oilers superstar seemingly blamed the officials, stating that if the play had been called for a penatly before things got out of hand, things could have been different.

"Maybe the whole thing is avoided with a blow of the whistle."

Ultimately, it's unclear who the media and fans in Edmonton hate more, whether it's Garland, the entire Canucks organization or the NHL and the Department of Player Safety for their decision, but as of right now, there's expected to be major fireworks for the Pacific Division matchup on Thursday night.
