University of Nevada Las Vegas is mourning the passing of offensive linesman Ben Christman today after he was found in his apartment.

Ben Christman was once a promising NFL prospect, playing in the BIG 10 conference of NCAA football for Ohio State.

The offensive linesman was listed at 6'6" and 312 pounds according to Sports Reference.

Christman appeared in just two games over the course of two seasons for Ohio State before he transferred to Kentucky where he appeared in 12 contests during the 2024 season.

This year, he transferred again, this time to the University of Nevada Las Vegas, but did not appear in any games with the team.

This morning, the 21-year-old was found unresponsive in his off-campus apartment where it was soon revealed that he had passed away.

University of Nevada Las Vegas head coach Dan Mullen made a statement for the press regarding Christman, saying how quickly he had made an impact on the team and the program.

"Our team's heart is broken to hear of Ben's passing. Since the day Ben set foot on our campus a month ago, he made the Rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our Leadership Committee as he had earned the immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates.

Our prayers go out to his family and all who knew him. Ben made the world a better place and he will be missed."

All of us here at Markerzone would like to send our deepest condolences to Christman's family, friends, and teammates in this difficult time.

We will be keeping him in our thoughts and prayers tonight. Rest in peace Ben.
