The Colorado Avalanche moved a young winger to upgrade in net, and now, they've made a deal with the Nashville Predators to land Juuso Parssinen.

The depth of the Colorado Avalanche has been tested this season, and after the team traded away young forward Nikolai Kovalenko to acquire Mackenzie Blackwood, the team were looking for an upgrade in the forward group.

Now they've found it, as the team officially announced that they have acquired Juuso Parssinen from the Nashville Predators, with the team giving up a third-round pick to do so.

Combined with that pick, Colorado moved Ondrej Pavel in the deal as well, proving that they are looking to make a genuine run in 2024/25, with the belief that Parssinen can be a huge upgrade to their forward group.

In 15 games this season, the 23-year old has tallied 3 goals and 5 points for the struggling Predators, and with the former seventh-round draft pick now set to join a much more talented forward group, we could see him really blossom moving forward.

For the Predators, this deal gets them another solid asset in a 2027 third-round draft pick, and with the team struggling, getting another asset for a possible upgrade in their forward group is a good deal.

While the biggest impact that can be made for Colorado is the return of Gabriel Landeskog, if that doesn't happen, the team will need all the depth they can get to make another run at the Stanley Cup.

Parssinen now figures to feature in the bottom-six in Colorado who have been decimated by injury, but if he can find his footing quickly and start producing, this will no doubt be looked back on as a fantastic deal for Colorado, who are optimistic that 2024/25 can be their year once more.
