The Boston Bruins suffered a big loss in the first game since holiday break, and now, it appears they're shaking things up with rookie Fabian Lysell set to debut.

After turning around their slow start to the season, the Boston Bruins were dominated on Friday, losing 6-2 at the hands of the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets away from home.

Now, the team are seemingly ready to switch things up, as they are now set to call up Fabian Lysell to make his NHL debut, with their 2021 first-round pick reportedly impressing the organization early in the year.

Ahead of their Saturday night clash with the Blue Jackets, the team officially confirmed through Head Coach Joe Sacco that Lysell would be getting his first NHL action in the game.

He's gonna make his debut tonight, he'll be in the lineup.

He's played well in Providence, talking to the coaching staff down there and management, they feel he deserves an opportunity.

At 21-years of age, Lysell has been thriving in the American Hockey League with the Providence Bruins, and in 2024/25 he's taken it to another level, posting an impressive 5 goals and 17 points in 26 games played, with the team now confident he can thrive at the NHL level as well.

Standing at 5-foot-11, Lysell doesn't have the physical tools that other Bruins prospects have, but he has the skill and the confidence along with the production that proves he could be a major threat with Boston.

In his debut, Lysell draws in on the right wing alongside Trent Frederic and Justin Brazeau, and while he's starting in the bottom-six, the belief in Boston is that Lysell can be a top-six player in the future, so keep a close eye on him early in his career.
