The New Jersey Devils PR group went full savage mode today during their game against the Rangers, as they completely trolled them on the jumbotron.

The New York Rangers, after years of good regular-season performances, find themselves in a real ugly collapse. The performances of late indicated a team that lost direction, lost confidence, with huge changes seemingly imminent.

Monday represented a new low for the team, who scratched veteran forward Chris Kreider and were embarrassed in a loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The Devils wasted no time building an early, overwhelming 5-0 lead against their Metropolitan Division rivals.

And if that wasn't enough, the Devils even trolled the Rangers with an in-game video that replayed the reactions of Rangers fans from 2019 when the Devils drafted Jack Hughes with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft before cutting to Jack Hughes, a budding star in the league, smiling on the bench.

It was 2019 and Rangers' fans were praying the Devils would pass on Hughes and allow them to take the dynamic centreman, but they did just fine at No. 2, taking Finnish winger Kaapo Kakko, whom they believed could be a cornerstone.

Five years later, Hughes has been on the cover of 'NHL 25' and has cemented himself as one of hockey's brightest young talents. Meanwhile, Kaapo Kakko's time in New York was one of heartbreak, with the Rangers dealing him away just last week.

Things only continued to get worse for the Rangers against the Devils, as the goals continued to find their way past goalie Jonathan Quick.

Though the team now has a short holiday break in which to regroup and recalculate, the outlook for a squad that once held so much promise is bleak.
