The Montreal Canadiens' young defenseman Kaiden Guhle may face a suspension after a plea from the Philadelphia Flyers.

Hathaway of the Flyers called out Guhle in his post-game comments for a dirty play that was uncalled by the referees on his teammate, Konecny. Let's just say they don't get along as well as their head coaches Martin St-Louis and John Tortorella.

Montreal Canadiens' Guhle makes a dirty play on Konecny during Canadiens Vs. Flyers

In the game, Kaiden Guhle received a solid hit in the corner of the ice by Travis Konecny, and he decided to retaliate from the bench. When Konecny was passing in front of the Habs' bench, Guhle hit him with his stick, which is strictly illegal in the NHL.

Here's how it went down:

The refs missed the call, but the Flyers saw everything.

Flyers' Hathaway calls out Guhle's dirty play in post-game comments

Garnet Hathaway didn't miss the opportunity to address the situation during his press conference, after the game.

"The officials told us they didn't see anything, but I feel like the league is going to review the sequence." - Garnet Hathaway

Considering that Guhle has a clean record, while what he did is a condemned gesture, he shouldn't be suspended. However, he'll likely have to pay a fine.

Guhle, 22, has 39 points in 110 NHL games with the Canadiens. He is an important part of the Habs' future at the blue line.

Just like Nick Suzuki and Samuel Montembeault, he should receive a call to represent Canada at the upcoming World Championship, in May, in Czechia.

More to come.
