Lots of debate has taken place around Logan Mailloux since the Canadiens took him 31st overall in 2021. Once again, the young defenseman finds himself in controversy.

Mailloux Causes Social Media Outrage

The newest professional women's team in Montreal, currently named "PWHL Montreal", shared the ice with the Canadiens' affiliate the Laval Rocket, today. During this on-ice session, the PWHL Montreal social media team decided to post an image of their captain and Olympic Gold Medalist Marie Philip-Poulin with Rocket defenseman Logan Mailloux.

Fans quickly noticed that the post was taken down not long after it was posted, presumably due to the history behind Mailloux.
Mailloux was charged with a sex crime in Sweden, where he played during Covid, for sharing an explicit photo of a woman without her consent.

Fans Continue to Bash Montreal

Even after the post was deleted, fans continued to voice their frustrations with the team for posting this image.
How did they fuck up that hard in the first place?
Tell me this is [photo]shopped and this didn't actually happen
Do they not understand who their core fan base is and how this would piss them off?
Literally could've chosen any other player
From the looks of it, many fans still aren't over the actions of Mailloux. Is this a case of a loud minority, or will Mailloux continue to cause problems for Montreal?
