Amazon To Purchase Minority Stake In Diamond Sports Group

Diamond Sports Group is the parent company for Bally Sports and Entertainment, which you may have heard of due to their regional broadcasts of 12 NHL teams. You may have also heard that Diamond Sports Group filed for bankruptcy, leaving the NHL scrambling to find a broadcaster in those markets.
Now, Amazon has agreed to purchase a minority stake in Diamond Sports Group, and will be able to stream NHL games on Amazon Prime.
Big news this morning that Amazon is acquiring a minority stake in Diamond Sports Group.

The regional sports network filed for bankruptcy last year, putting local media rights for 37 teams across the NBA, MLB, and NHL in jeopardy.

Now, customers can watch games on Amazon Prime.
This is huge news for NHL fans all over, not just in these regional broadcast locations, as it could mean that there is better access for viewing games in other regions via Amazon Prime.
While the details of how this will work have not been revealed, this could be massive for NHL fans all over the world.
