Insider Reveals Shocking Possibility for Milan Lucic
Despite being one of the best teams in the NHL, the Bruins have found themselves at the center of a major controversy as Milan Lucic has gotten himself into serious off-ice trouble.
Bruins Forward Lucic Arrested For Domestic Violence Incident
It was reported on Saturday that Bruins forward Milan Lucic had been arrested for a domestic incident involving his wife. Lucic Allegedly assaulted her by choking her and pulling on her hair violently. When police arrived on the scene Lucic appeared to be intoxicated and they found a broken lamp in their home.
Police reportedly observed a broken lamp and shards of glass.
Bruins Reportedly Set To Terminate Lucic's Contract
Boston Hockey Now reporter Jimmy Murphy reported today that he believes the Bruins will invoke the NHL's morality clause as a means to terminate Lucic's contract. The morality clause, which exists in all NHL contracts, allows teams to terminate the contract of players who conduct themselves in ways that are detrimental to the team.
Lucic entered the NHLPA player's assistance program immediately following the news of his arrest breaking. According to Murphy, the Bruins plan on terminating Lucic's contract after he does the 30 day minimum requirement with the assistance program.
Lucic is currently facing a trial for the alleged incident. It seems likely that he has played his last game in the NHL.
