New York Rangers defenceman Tony DeAngelo has never been shy when there's something on his mind. The outspoken supporter of Donald Trump has often tweeted things that drew backlash from his followers, including questioning the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to him deactivating his Twitter account for about 24 hours before he reactivated it with the Tweet deleted. However, with news that Joe Biden has now won the U.S. election, which is being projected by pretty much all major news networks, DeAngelo decided to take the high road.

"Congrats to Joe Biden and wishing him all the best. Good luck! God bless the USA," tweeted DeAngelo, followed by American flag emojis.

It's also worth noting that someone recently asked DeAngelo if he would rather win a Stanley Cup or have Donald Trump re-elected. DeAngelo wasted to time in saying he'd much rather have the Cup.

According to Matt Porter of The Boston Globe, he put in a request to speak with DeAngelo while his Twitter account was deactivated earlier this week, which was promptly denied by the New York Rangers. He was told by the team the situation was "handled internally." Whether that means the team forced him to remove the Tweet questioning COVID-19 or he decided to remove it on his own is anyone's guess. However, kudos to DeAngelo for choosing to show grace this time around.
