Per TSN's Frank Seravalli, the Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed defenceman Vladislav Gavrikov to a three-year contract extension that will pay him $2.8 million per season.

The 2019-20 season was Gavrikov's first as an NHLer. In 69 games, the 24-year-old put up five goals and 18 points. He also suited up for 10 postseason games, where he had a goal and two assists. Prior to suiting up with the Blue Jackets this season, he played four full seasons in the KHL, split between Yaroslavl Lokomotiv and St. Petersburg SKA.

Though it took some time for him to come overseas, Gavrikov appears to be a nice find for the Blue Jackets. They took the six-foot-three defenceman in the sixth round (159th overall) of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He was solid in his role as a third pairing defenceman last season, averaging just under 19 minutes of ice time per game.
