The 22nd annual Hockey Fights Cancer Campaign begins today, which is a team effort between the NHL and NHLPA to help raise money for cancer research and treatment. The campaign kicks off in November, and it will feature stories from players and staff around the NHL that have been affected by cancer.

Cancer is a problem that does not stop during any time of year, and the NHL and NHLPA want to help people no matter the time of year. In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused even more panic with cancer patients and their families. Even with the odd NHL offseason and schedule, the campaign is still determined to raise as much money as possible.

During November, many stories will be showcased and some of the many challenges of cancer will be brought to light. Hall of Famer Dale Hawerchuk, Philadelphia Flyers forward Oskar Lindblom, Vegas Golden Knights Shea Theodore, and Axl Quincey (son of former NHL defenseman Kyle Quincy) are some of the people that will share insight relating to cancer.

Hockey Fights Cancer has been fundraising and donating money to families affected by cancer since 1998, and last year, the donations exploded for more than $3.8 million. Also, the Stanley Cup Hope Lodge Tour debuted, which included visits to four cities in the USA and Canada. Fans can donate (if possible) to the Hockey Fights Cancer campaign by visiting hockeyfightscancer.com.
