As Jim Ross used to say, this one would be a slobberknocker! According to Georges Laraque himself, he's rallying to get in the ring with "The Baddest Man on the Planet", former undisputed World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Mike Tyson. Laraque is looking for a three-round boxing match to take place at Montreal's Bell Centre next November,

Laraque made the revelation on his french-language radio show which airs on 91.9 Sports in Montreal. Laraque said he's been making the calls and the event is "75 percent done." All he needs, according to him, is a a promoter who will put together a real boxing card for the evening and to convince the powers that be that he has the expertise required to be awarded a boxing licence for the evening. He still has a year's worth of training at the gym he can complete before going for the credentials.

Tyson has made it known that he wants to put on three-round fights against worthy opponents around the world. There was already one planned for Australia, but it has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He's scheduled to fight Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round bout on November 28th at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles.

Laraque may not be a boxer but he's certainly no stranger to fighting. He competed in 695 regular season NHL games as an enforcer who would regularly drop the gloves. He finished his career with 1126 PIM.
