When the Montreal Canadiens drafted Sarnia Sting forward Alex Galchenyuk with the third overall pick in 2012, many viewed him as the answer to the Habs' offensive woes and a potential franchise center for the organization. Fast forward 8 years, and here we are, with Galchenyuk having worn four different jerseys in his young career, finding varying degrees of success along the way- and according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, he may be close to his fifth.

According to LeBrun, the 26-year-old is returning to Canada on a one-year deal to play with the Ottawa Senators. Sens beat reporter Bruce Garrioch has confirmed that the salary for Galchenyuk's deal is $1.05M.

Though Galchenyuk's time in Montreal was not lacklustre enough to consider labeling him a "bust", his offensive output didn't exactly jump off the page either, leading to an eventual trade with the Arizona Coyotes for impact forward Max Domi ahead of the 2018-19 season.

Following just one season in Arizona, the Milwaukee, Wisconsin native was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins and was then subsequently dealt to the Minnesota Wild ahead of this season's trade deadline.

In 549 career NHL regular season appearances, Galchenyuk has registered 135 goals and 320 points. In addition, the former Canadien, Coyote, Penguin and Wild has racked up 13 points through 32 career NHL playoff games.
