Arbitration numbers filed for Ullmark and Sabres

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, arbitration numbers have been filed for the Buffalo Sabres, and goaltender Linus Ullmark, and both sides are very far apart. Ullmark's arbitration hearing will be on Monday.

Ullmark, 27, was drafted in the sixth round, 163rd overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2012 NHL entry draft. In 97 career games, he has a record of 41 wins, 41 losses, 10 overtime/shootout losses, a 2.81 GAA, a .911 save percentage, and 3 shutouts.

Internationally, Ullmark has represented Sweden a few times over the course of his career, most recently at the 2014 IIHF Men's World Hockey Championships. He served as the third goalie during the tournament, not making any appearances, as Sweden won the bronze medal after defeating the Czech Republic by a score of 3 to 0.

While it is still possible the Sabres and Ullmark come to an agreement on a contract, it seems given the numbers that were filed, both sides will have the arbitration hearing that is set for Monday afternoon. Ullmark had a career year last season, putting up 17 wins, 14 losses, 3 overtime/shootout losses, a 2.69 GAA, a .915 save percentage, and 1 shutout. During the 2019-20 season, Ullmark made 1.325 million dollars and is seeking a jump in salary of nearly 2.8 million dollars. Although he did have an alright season, getting that 4.1 million dollar figure he is seeking might be difficult. Expect them to meet somewhere around the $2.4-$2.75 range either this weekend, or on Monday when the arbitrator hears the case for both sides.
