The Pittsburgh Penguins are officially in sell mode as they're all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and three of their players have hit the market.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will continue to stir in anticipation of the March 7 trade deadline, with three players emerging as candidates for a move, according to 'The Athletic'.

GM Kyle Dubas nixed any full-scale fire sale scenario, saying he's had a lot of discussions, but that he is not telling teams that everyone has to go. But a move involving Marcus Pettersson and Drew O'Connor came before that.

Seven points back of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, Pittsburgh is in a spot to make moves but would very much like its core in one piece.

Anthony Beauvillier, Kevin Hayes, and Blake Lizotte are on the trade block

Anthony Beauvillier, who's fifth on the team with 11 markers, is a great add and can be a significant playoff rental for playoff contending groups.

With pace and versatility, Beauvillier is a target for teams, and head coach Mike Sullivan recently praised him for a strong performance.

«He's noticeable and making an impact with his speed, his tenacity, he can shoot the puck.»

Kevin Hayes, inconsistent by nature, had a five-game slump snapped and can fit onto a larger stage when others, like Evgeni Malkin, go down with an injury.

Hayes, with nine markers in 38 games, brings playoff experience and size to the center position.

Blake Lizotte brings two-way solidity and stays focused despite all the rumors, and at 27, continues to contribute with eight markers and 12 points in 36 games.

«You take one game at a time,» Lizotte said. «You don't look too far ahead or too far behind.»

The Penguins won't have a full-scale fire sale scenario, but Beauvillier, Hayes, and Lizotte could be moved soon enough with the trade deadline closing in.
