Earlier this week, it was reported by Icethetics, who are a very credible source for any jersey related information, that the reverse retro uniforms for the Pittsburgh Penguins and Philadelphia Flyers had leaked. Now, a few days after that, two more reverse retro jersey designs have been leaked, and they both come from the Pacific Division. First, let's take a look at the possible jersey for the Vegas Golden Knights.

With the Vegas Golden Knights only entering the league during the 2017-18 season, they don't have a whole lot of history in terms of jerseys. They released a gold third jersey earlier this month, but as of writing this, they have only worn two jerseys in franchise history. For Vegas to create a reverse retro uniform, they had to go back into the roots of hockey in Las Vegas, and this is what they came up with.

The striping on the lower part of the jersey and arms pays homage to the Las Vegas Thunder, who were a team in the International Hockey League (IHL) in the 90's but only lasted six seasons. The sword/star logo in the middle of this jersey is currently the Golden Knights' alternate logo and is worn as a shoulder patch on their current uniforms.

The second jersey to leak was from the Anaheim Ducks. We all know the incredible jersey history the Ducks have had since entering the league in the early 90's. They had the classic eggplant, teal and white jerseys, with the infamous Mighty Ducks logo. Then in the late 90's they added a teal jersey with eggplant purple on the shoulder. In the 2000's they went through many changes, shortening their name from Mighty Ducks to just Ducks, they started to wear black, white, and gold jerseys with the Anaheim Ducks wordmark as their logo. As of the 2014-15 season, the Ducks have been wearing the webbed "D" logo on their jerseys.

One jersey everyone forgets about is the Mighty Ducks alternate from the 1995-96, which had been dubbed the "Wild Wing" jersey. It features a teal/eggplant jersey, with white shoulders and a white trim on the bottom, and the logo shows the Mighty Ducks mascot Wild Wing, breaking though the ice holding a hockey stick. According to Icethetics, that jersey will likely be returning as their reverse retro uniform, but instead of the teal and eggplant colour, it will be orange and white.

If you aren't familiar with this new fourth jersey program called "reverse retros", here's some more information about it. Most of the 31 teams in the NHL are expected to get a new jersey and it will be worn once or twice each season, likely against a rival. The jerseys are expected to be throwbacks with a twist, as in either inverted or different colours with a current logo or retro logo. Not every team has a massive jersey history they can look back on and choose which to go with, such as Vegas, so it's possible other teams could go with a look that represents hockey history in their city rather than franchise history. Expect to see more jerseys leak, and hopefully be unveiled in the coming weeks and months leading up to the 2020-21 NHL season.
