Blackhawks sign Mattias Janmark

Fresh off a run with the Dallas Stars that saw him and his teammates come within two wins of winning the Stanley Cup, forward Mattias Janmark has signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Blackhawks worth $2.25 million.

Janmark was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings 79th overall in 2013 but he never played for the team. He was part of a trade between the Wings and Stars in June of 2014 and began his NHL career in 2015-16. In 297 career games, he has 46 goals and 109 points.

Janmark skated in 62 games for the Dallas Stars last season, notching 21 points (6G, 15A). He also appeared in 26 postseason contests, recording one goal and seven assists, helping the Stars to the Stanley Cup Final.
