The Chicago Blackhawks are looking to move Seth Jones, and now, the veteran blue liner has revealed he's open to a return to the Columbus Blue Jackets after a good six years with the team.

This season has been another poor one for the Chicago Blackhawks, and with no chance of playing meaningful hockey anytime soon, it appears they're working with veteran Seth Jones to find a trade partner that would allow him to do just that.

Now, in an update to that situation, the veteran has addressed potentially rejoining the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in a surprise answer, he's revealed that he's very open to that move.

«Yeah, for sure. It was very special when I played with Zach as partners for the most part of 5 1/2 years.»

That may not come as a massive surprise however given the Norris Trophy caliber season that Zach Werenski is having thus far, and with the team in for a shot at the Stanley Cup Playoffs in the Eastern Conference, it would give Jones exactly what he's looking for.

On top of that, Columbus are one of the only teams in the league that could take on Jones' contract, and although there would likely be retention, adding him to their top four alongside Werenski and Ivan Provorov would give them the boost they need to stay in the Wild Card hunt.

This season, Jones has been fairly solid on a bad Blackhawks team with 6 goals and 26 points in 38 games, and while there would be plenty to sort out given the lofty contract numbers that follow him for the next five years, with the salary cap going up, he may be just what Columbus needs to continue their growth and development.
