Doug Armstrong and the St. Louis Blues are reportedly trying to do right by Ryan Suter, giving him one last shot at a Stanley Cup.

The St. Louis Blues will almost certainly not be making the playoffs this season.

The team is currently 8 points out of a playoff spot and they are reportedly looking to move more in the seller direction at the trade deadline.

The team has already moved on from players like Scott Perunovich and Brandon Saad, and now even Jordan Kyrou could be on the trade block.

According to NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the Blues are also hoping to move one of their veteran blueliners.

Doug Armstrong wants to do a solid for Ryan Suter by getting him onto a contending team to give him one last chance for his first career Stanley Cup championship.

Suter has played in exactly 1500 career regular-season NHL games split among four teams.

He was a Norris trophy finalist in the 2012-13 season when he put up 32 points in the shortened 48-game season and he has been in three All-star games.

The grizzled veteran has 106 goals and 691 points in his career, but despite his consistent performance and longevity, he is still chasing his first Stanley Cup.

In fact, Suter leads all active players in games played without a Cup to his name.

This is the unfortunate reality of the NHL sometimes, but with a lot of luck perhaps Suter will find himself on a contending team late this spring and perhaps that team will even win it all.

Suter is one of the most well-respected players in the NHL and has often been lauded by his teammates for his professionalism and determination.

Hopefully he can bring home some hardware this summer as it could not happen to a better guy.
