As everyone knows by now, the Montreal Canadiens acquired forward Josh Anderson in a deal that saw Max Domi head to Columbus. Only days after the trade, Anderson signed a 7-year contract extension with the Habs that came with a cap hit of $5.5 million per season.

In one of his first interviews with the Canadiens, Anderson revealed a bit of information that Habs fans will love. When it came time for his 16th birthday, his parents gave him the opportunity to choose anywhere in the world to go. He chose to go to the Bell Centre, for a playoff game between the Canadiens, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"But I do remember on my 16th birthday, I was fortunate enough to go anywhere in the world and I picked to go to a Montreal playoff game. So my dad ended up taking me down for the night, and I believe the Montreal Canadiens were playing the Pittsburgh Penguins in the playoffs. To experience that as a 16-year-old and to see what it was like in the playoffs in the Bell Centre was pretty amazing." Anderson said.

To make this trade even more interesting, Josh Anderson and Max Domi are good friends. They both played junior hockey together in the Ontario Hockey League with the London Knights. When asked about his friendship with Max, Anderson had this to say:

"It's something that you didn't expect, obviously, getting traded for one of your best buddies. It was a pretty big shock yesterday. I know that when it did happen and we found out, we shortly FaceTimed each other right after. He just spoke very highly about Montreal and how much he loved it, and said, 'You're going to have a blast there.' It was definitely weird being traded for Max."

At 6'3, 222 pounds, Anderson is exactly the type of player the Canadiens have been wanting for a long time now. He can score, throw the body around, be on the powerplay and penalty kill, and can skate well.

Anderson, 26, was drafted in the fourth round, 95th overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2012 NHL entry draft. In 267 regular season games, he's put up 115 points (65 G, 50 A), 212 penalty minutes, and is a +27. In 21 career playoff games, Anderson has 8 points (3 G, 5 A), 45 penalty minutes, and is a +/-0.
