Two more blueliners were taken off the free agent market Friday with the signings of defencemen Mark Borowiecki and Jack Johnson.

Borowiecki, who has spent his entire NHL career with the Ottawa Senators after being drafted by the team 139th overall in 2008, has signed on with the Nashville Predators. It's a two-year deal worth $2 million per season (AAV). Borowiecki will definitely bring added grit to the Nashville lineup.

Meanwhile, The New York Rangers have inked Johnson to a one-year contract worth $1.15 million. Johnson, 33, spent the previous two seasons with the Pittsburgh Penguins but had the final three years of his contract with the club bought out on Monday.

Johnson was the third overall pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 2005. He never played for the team, but has played for the LA Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets, in addition to the Penguins.
