The Anaheim Ducks have added a Stanley Cup Champion to their blueline on Friday in the form of 31-year-old Kevin Shattenkirk, with the two sides reaching a 3-year deal with a $3.9M AAV on the opening day of free agency.

Shattenkirk, a 679 game NHL veteran, signed with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2019 as a free agent after being bought out by the New York Rangers during the NHL's buy-out window, prior to free agency after the 2018-19 season concluded.

In 70 games with the Lightning last season, the New Rochelle, NY native notched 8 goals and 34 points, adding 13 points in 25 playoff games en route to his first career Stanley Cup championship.

The former 1st rounder (14th by Colorado in 2007) has been a bit of a journeyman over the course of his 10-year NHL career, with the Ducks becoming his 6th NHL team over that span.

Shattenkirk has registered 383 points in his 679 career NHL games, with an additional 48 points coming in 85 playoff appearances.
