According to Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press, multiple Dallas Stars players were playing injured during their run to the Stanley Cup Final this summer. Most teams do have players that play through injury during the Stanley Cup playoffs, but what the Dallas Stars did was remarkable with the amount of injuries they had.

Jamie Benn played through a shoulder injury, Blake Comeau had a separated right shoulder, Jason Dickinson had foot/ankle injuries, Radek Faksa broke his left wrist, Roope Hintz had a fractured ankle, and injured his hip in the Stanley Cup Final, Tyler Seguin had a torn labrum in his hip and will be out for 4 months, Esa Lindell had a hand injury, and John Klingberg had a shoulder injury.

Ben Bishop had knee surgery in May, Stephen Johns wasn't comfortable playing due to his concussion history, and Taylor Fedun had a knee injury.

The way the Stars played despite the injuries was incredible. To get all the way to the Stanley Cup Final, two wins away from winning it all, and having your top players not at their best, is just crazy to even imagine. We wish all players who were injured a quick and speedy recovery.

Dallas has some cap issues going into next season and because of that, players like Anton Khudobin and Corey Perry are going to be hitting the open market tomorrow, when free agency begins at 12 pm ET. It will be extremely tough for Dallas to repeat what they did this season.
