Juulsen, 23, was limited to just 13 AHL games this past season, and played in only 24 games between the AHL and NHL the season prior due to a vision related issue after taking a puck to the face in a game versus the Washington Capitals in November of 2018. It was extremely unfortunate for both the Canadiens and Juulsen, as he appeared to be turning into a very valuable shutdown defenceman at the time.
As mentioned, Juulsen appeared in 13 AHL games this past season, posting three assists. The 23rd pick from the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has played in 44 NHL games to this point in his career, scoring two goals and adding six helpers. If his vision issues are behind him, he will be in the running to make the Habs' opening day roster for the 2020-21 season.
