Before definitively retiring from hockey, Marian Hossa, the former Stanley Cup champion and NHL legend, will play in a farewell match in his home country of Slovakia. This 'Goodbye Game' signifies Hossa's final skate on the ice after he was forced to retire in April 2017 due to an allergy to his equipment, which marked the end of his NHL career.

Star-Packed Game

The game, featuring an impressive roster full of hockey greats, includes the likes of Nicklas Lidstrom, Zdeno Chara, Dustin Byfuglien, Nicklas Hjalmarsson, Martin Havlat, Patrick Sharp, Marian Gaborik, Tomas Kopecky, Daniel Alfredsson, Michal Handzus, Miroslav Satan, Michal Rozsival, and the former captain of the Chicago Blackhawks, Jonathan Toews.

Scheduled for August 18th in Trencin, the event's proceeds will be donated to HOSS Heroes, Hossa's charity organization. Surely, this will be a fantastic game to watch.

A Farewell to a Legend

At 44 years old, Hossa concludes an illustrious career, earning him a place in the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2020. Over his 19-season career, he skated for the Ottawa Senators, Atlanta Thrashers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, and the Chicago Blackhawks, achieving three Stanley Cup victories while in Chicago. This event marks a fitting end to the career of one of hockey's most underrated players.
