Lou Lamoriello stated that the New York Islanders would "definitely" be playing at the Nassau Coliseum for the 2020-21 season.

The Islanders are set to play at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park at the start of the 2021-22 season, but they did not have a sure home for this upcoming season. Lamoriello also stated that the season ticket seating selection will begin sometime next week.

The Coliseum was in doubt due to the fact that Russian owned company, Onexim, announced that they would be shutting down the arena.

Commissioner Gary Bettman announced recently that the start of the NHL season could "slip into January." After Bettman made his announcement, Lamoriello said "hopefully, sometime in the coming year at the Coliseum, we will have fans."

Lamoriello's comment comes only days after Bettman announced that the NHL would not play next season in the bubble.
