San Jose Sharks showing interest in veteran forward

According to The Athletic's Kevin Kurz, the San Jose Sharks are showing interest in former Ottawa Senator and Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan.

Kurz also mentioned that the Sharks are one of many teams that have checked in with the 33-year-old forward, so it sounds like he will have a fair share of offers when free agency begins. This past season with the Senators, Ryan was limited to just 24 games as he chose to step away in order to seek help with an alcohol addiction. He was able to return late in the season, and had one of the most memorable moments during the 2019-20 season, as he netted a hattrick in his first home game since stepping away.

The Senators recently bought out Ryan, who had two years remaining on his deal that was paying him $7.25 million per season. While his numbers have taken a hit over the last few years, perhaps a fresh start with a new team is exactly what the former second overall pick needs to get back to the player he once was.
