The Toronto Maple Leafs have given themselves a very deep roster ahead of the 2024/25 season, but GM Brad Treliving may not yet be done.

Brad Treliving has made some fantastic moves this summer, bolstering the blue line with three big additions, while also making some solid moves to sure up the goaltending and forward groups. However, he may not quite be done, as insider David Pagnotta has predicted two key Maple Leafs are still very much in play as trade candidates.
"They don't have a ton of cap space, they don't have much at all. They are looking at ways to create additional cap but also free up a little bit of roster space. Even with Robertson locked in on that 1-year contract, I'm told he's very much in play and Brad Treliving is having conversations about the possibility of moving him. Conor Timmins' name is out there as well... There are ways to alleviate a little bit of cap space.
Given that Robertson's name has been in trade talks all summer long, it's unclear why things would have changed heading into the pre-season, but after inking a one-year deal, he should become somewhat easier to trade. At 22-years of age, he should be a big target for any rebuilding squad looking to add young depth to their forward group, and given that it's long been assumed he will be traded, a move soon makes perfect sense.
As for Timmins, there's just no room for him at the NHL level with the additions of Chris Tanev, Jani Hakanpaa and Oliver Ekman-Larsson, so if they can find a taker for him, it will help them with further flexibility down the line. There's no reason for Treliving to wait to move either of these players, and if he can find a genuinely interested party in the coming weeks, look for the Leafs to make another big move before they begin another crucial season.
