The Tampa Bay Lightning were just one goal from winning the Stanley Cup for the first time since 2004 in Game 5, but the Dallas Stars just edged them on the scoreboard after Corey Perry tapped the puck into the net to force a Game 6.

It was the first time in Stanley Cup Final history that there were two overtime games played in consecutive days.

Even after the heartbreaking loss, the team has shown no signs of panic, and they have already shown during these playoffs that they can finish off a series after a loss like that one.

The Lightning had a similar occurrence when they faced the New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference Final. They were up 3-1 in the series before ultimately dropping Game 5 in nearly identical fashion. Tampa Bay won Game 6 and the series just 2 nights later.

Anthony Cirelli came within inches of giving the Lightning a lead late in the third period, but his quick-turnaround shot just rang off the post. After that, Tampa dominated for most of OT, especially after holding the Stars to just 2 shots on goal through the first OT.

Just like the conference final, Tampa Bay has played in two games that went more than 60 minutes. During the playoffs, the Lightning are 5-0 following a loss.

"The big thing is to get some rest here," Cooper said. "Just in the end, you could see … I don't know; if that game went any longer, I don't know if there would have been any goals scored. I think both teams were pretty tired."
" … Anytime you lose a game in the playoffs, you're disappointed. But we've been pretty good at responding after losses. We've been doing this for over two months, so we've got a good idea of what's ahead of us and how to respond."

The Lightning will look to hoist the Stanley Cup in Game 6 and finish of the series on Monday night, at 8 p.m. ET.
