The last jersey ever worn by the greatest hockey player in the history of the game sold for an unbelievable price at an auction Sunday night.

The Final Jersey

The 'Great One' Wayne Gretzky's game-worn New York Rangers jersey, the same jersey that he wore in his final NHL game April 18th 1999, has sold for $715,120.
The jersey, which Gretzky wore while assisting on a Brian Leetch goal that would be his 2,857th and final NHL point, eclipsed the previous auction record for a U.S based hockey jersey held by Miracle On Ice star Mike Eruzione; which sold for $657,250 in 2013.
In terms of the most expensive hockey jerseys of all-time this one is ranked third behind Gretzky's final Edmonton Oiler Jersey and Paul Henderson's Jersey that he wore during the 1972 Summit Series against the USSR,
Henderson famously scored the series-winning goal in Game 8 of the Summit Series, which is one of hockey's most famous events.
Wayne Gretzky is widely considered to be the greatest hockey player of all time. Gretzky scored 894 goals and assisted on 1963 others for a total of 2,857 points.
These are the highest goal assist and point totals for anyone who played in the NHL.
if Gretzky never scored a goal in his NHL career, he'd still be the all-time leader in points on his assists alone.
