The tragic deaths of Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau toward the end of August plunged the hockey world into deep mourning.
Again and again, though, fans just kept remembering their favorite players in heartfelt tributes.
On Thursday, Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny's wife, took to Instagram to share a special moment.
She thanked a fan who sent her a tribute, a scrapbook loaded with clippings and photos of Johnny's time with the Calgary Flames.
The post shared by the Instagram account 'johnnyhockeyfan_13' featured pictures showcasing the scrapbook in celebration of Johnny's legacy.
The scrapbook was done by none other than Holly Leis, who later shared the fan page to her Instagram story and tagged Meredith.
Meredith then re-shared Leis' story to her own account, including a note of thanks herself.
That same day, Meredith and daughter Noa hung out with Columbus Blue Jackets player Zach Werenski, and his fiancee Odette Peters.
Meredith has kept the memory of Johnny alive with her posts.
Last week, she shared an old video posted by the user 'johnnyhockeyfan_13' where Johnny was talking about his hockey stick preferences.
In the video, the sound of Johnny's voice rings out comically about staying with a smaller-sized stick on the ice, further a testament to the kind of person he was and just how seriously he took the game.
The terrible and sad loss of both Johnny and Matthew in the cycling accident that occurred in New Jersey, caused by an alleged drunk driver, devastated the Gaudreau family.
As reported, the driver, Sean Higgins, had drunk up to six beers before driving his car recklessly.
This week, Higgins made an appearance in court where the judge granted the prosecutors a continuance to take time so that they could charge him by an indictment.
He was facing many counts of charges that included a sentence of up to 20 years for two counts of vehicular homicide.
The hockey world remains in mourning as it reflects and looks back at what was left between the Gaudreau brothers.
