Connor Bedard's Commitment to Hockey Reinforced by a Ridiculous Story
Most people go on vacation to get away from their everyday lives. It's a chance to unwind from all of life's stressors, and forget who you are. That wasn't the case for hockey's most talked about player, Connor Bedard, who took his passion with him all the way to Hawaii.
Hockey Stick in Hawaii, Connor?
That's right. Draft sensation and projected first overall pick Connor Bedard brought his hockey gear on a flight all the way to Hawaii for a family vacation.
The story, which was shared on the Spittin' Chiclets podcast, goes as follows. The Bedard family wanted to take a vacation to the tropical islands of Hawaii, but young Connor didn't want to go and miss out on hockey. The compromise was that Connor could bring his hockey gear to Hawaii for the vacation, and there he was able to practice for the duration of time he was there.
According to Ryan Whitney, when the Bedard's landed in Hawaii, they were told that the locals had never seen anyone show up to Hawaii with hockey equipment. It would certainly make sense that Connor Bedard was the first one to do so, as his commitment to the game is next level.
This is certainly an interesting story, and should excite Blackhawks fans.
