Controversial Name Emerges as Frontrunner for Penguins Hockey Ops Position
The Penguins GM talk continues as Ron Hextall's replacement has yet to be named. Rumors have been swirling about several candidates who could replace Hextall, and one name will leave a bad taste in your mouth.
Stan Bowman
Penguins fans were disgusted with the job that Ron Hextall did as a GM. His potential replacement, however, will likely turn fans' stomachs as well.
Bowman's most recent title as Chicago Blackhawks GM was short lived after it was revealed that Bowman failed to report sexual assault allegations towards Brad Aldrich, who at the time, was a member of the Blackhawks' video coaching staff.
Bowman resigned not only as Chicago's GM, but as GM of the US Olympic men's hockey team in October 2021.
Fan Outrage
Fans have already expressed anger in response to Strickland's tweet about Bowman being a candidate for the job.
The «Bowman» name has connections with Pittsburgh, as Stan is the son of former Penguins head coach Scotty Bowman.
