The Vancouver Canucks announced on Thursday afternoon that they've placed defenceman Noah Juulsen on waivers for the purpose of assigning him to the American Hockey League.

Juulsen, 26, was a first-round pick (26th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Injuries plagued Juulsen early in his career and he was eventually picked up on waivers by Florida, who then traded him to the Vancouver Canucks nearly ten months later.

The Surrey (British Columbia) native is in his second full season with the Canucks organization and has split time between Vancouver and their AHL affiliate in Abbotsford. In 12 games with Vancouver, he has no points, while in 49 AHL games, Juulsen has recorded 20 points.

If Juulsen clears waivers at 2 p.m. ET on Friday, he'll join the Abbotsford Canucks just in time for the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs.
